The Industrious Company
Fabrication
Built On Systems.
Most fabrication problems don’t start in the shop. They start with a missed revision, a lost heat number, or a job nobody’s tracking.
Our founder built Industrious SEEDS from 26 years of experience across nuclear, gas and oil, food processing, and steel fabrication — software built from shop logic, from bid to installation.
We run every project on SEEDS, so every job runs the same disciplined way, start to finish.
Every job starts the same way: drawings, specs, and revisions are reviewed, the latest revision is locked, and scope is defined before the first cut. No scope creep, no building to an old rev.
Material takeoffs run through the Industrious Optimizer — it calculates the exact buy down to the stick and the sheet, lays out the plate nesting to get the most out of every sheet, and builds the cut plan the shop runs from. Material, cut lists, and shop hours are planned up front, so the critical path keeps moving instead of waiting on steel.
Every job is broken down through a Work Breakdown Structure, from full project scope to sequencing to individual work packages: cutting, fit-up, welding, inspection, and shipping. It all lives in the job’s Digital Traveler, where each step carries a live status for accountability and traceability, and shop labor is organized around each package to optimize shop flow. Percent complete rolls up by work package, giving you real progress for scheduling and billing, not estimates.
Every piece is traceable by heat number, with material and filler metal CMTRs cross-referenced to its piece mark. Welding is backed by written WPS and data sheets, WPQ records with welder continuity logs, and calibration certifications. We provide shop drawings, and every job builds its own inspection and turnover packet, complete and fully traceable.
Steel packages that ship complete, documented, and ready to set — on schedule, with the paper to back it up.
All welding performed to AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel, using qualified procedures and certified welders.
Our Process
From Start to Finish
Review Drawings
Drawings, specs, and revisions are reviewed and logged in SEEDS. The latest revision is locked and scope is defined before material is ordered.
Procurement
The Industrious Optimizer builds the buy list and cut plan. Mill certs are requested with every order, so traceability starts the day steel arrives.
Fabrication
Cutting, fitting, and welding to AWS D1.1. Every job is tracked through its Digital Traveler, by piece mark and heat number.
QC, Packaging & Documentation
Material and filler metal CMTRs, WPS and WPQ records, and calibration certifications compile into one inspection and turnover packet that ships with the steel.
Delivery & Installation Support
Packages are labeled, staged, and shipped ready to set. Field installation across Kansas and Missouri; fabrication ships nationwide.
